PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Load Forecasting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our forecasting group, you will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in load forecasting, sales and revenue forecasting, and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Forecasting Models: Design and implement statistical and end-use modeling techniques to develop long-term load and customer forecasts.
- Analyze and Interpret Data: Critically analyze and interpret load research data to explain weather effects on customer usage and the overall forecasted impact.
- Collect and Verify Data: Collect and verify the accuracy of data for new and existing demand, energy efficiency expectations, economic indices, and demand side management assumptions.
- Present Findings and Recommendations: Present data and findings to management and key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, highlighting key drivers and trends.
- Identify Opportunities for Improvement: Analyze monthly variances from the forecast for each jurisdiction and customer class, and identify opportunities for improvement in the forecast.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay current with industry trends and developments in load forecasting and data analysis.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of seven years of related analytical work experience.
- Skills: Research and analytical skills, ability to obtain relevant data, evaluate complex situations, develop creative alternatives, provide recommendations, and negotiate and influence outcomes.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish trust, maintain confidence, and understand social behavior and interactions.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with the use of personal computers to gather, analyze, and summarize data.
- Advanced Degree: Advanced degree in a related field.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of statistical forecasting software and relational databases, including MetrixND, MetrixLT, SAS, STATA, SAP Business Objects, Itron MV90, Itron IEE, and Oracle Utilities Load Analysis (OULA).
- Business Planning and Forecasting: Knowledge of business planning and forecasting concepts, practices, and techniques.
- Project and Process Management: Demonstrated project and process management skills.
