Custodian

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Shiprock Associated Schools, Inc. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff.

1. Facilities Maintenance: Clean, sweep, and mop all classrooms, windows, offices, and common areas, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
2. Groundskeeping: Maintain the outdoor grounds, including sweeping and cleaning sidewalks, removing snow and debris, and ensuring proper trash disposal.
3. Equipment Maintenance: Perform minor building repairs and maintain custodial equipment, including the polisher, vacuum, and carpet shampooer.
4. Inventory Management: Keep an accurate inventory of supplies and equipment, notifying the Facilities Manager of any discrepancies.
5. Professional Conduct: Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff.

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Age: Must be 21 years of age or older.
3. Vision: Specific vision requirements, including distance and peripheral vision, and depth perception.
4. Physical Demands: Must be able to meet minimum physical demands of the job, including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
5. Certifications: First Aid/CPR certification and Navajo Nation food handler's certification required.
6. Language: Bilingual (Dine/English) preferred.
