Diagnostic Imaging Technologist

Job Overview:
The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist is a key member of the imaging team at OU Health, responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic and interventional services to patients in various care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares patients for procedures, ensuring accurate clinical history correlation with ordered procedures.
- CORrelates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians to be performed.
- Utilizes intermediate-level professional knowledge to provide safe, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent conditions.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams to identify and implement necessary actions for desired outcomes.
- Performs a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures utilizing highly specialized imaging equipment and techniques.
- Conducts post-procedure reviews to confirm required study elements are completed, documented, and technical quality meets established department protocols.
- Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems, enters technical data/findings, and prepares studies for reporting by physicians.
- Maintains operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and user maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines.
Requirements:
- Applicant should have skill in applying principles of medical imaging, terminology, positioning of patients, and medical ethics.
- Must be able to work as part of a team, follow instructions, and consistently report to work as scheduled.
- Sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs.
- Able to maintain accurate records and accurately work with names, numbers, and codes.
- Can draw conclusions and make recommendations.
- Able to exercise discretion in handling confidential information and demonstrate sound judgment.
- Must be multi-tasked and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Understanding of operations, policies, and procedures.
- Able to communicate with staff, patients, and their families in a professional, polite, courteous, compassionate, and cooperative manner.
- Display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently.
- Able to work with minimum supervision and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Core to intermediate-level knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology; cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies and terminology associated with primary and post-primary specialties for which hired and credentialed.
Salary Information:
The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 annually, based on relevant experience and qualifications. Benefits packages may include health insurance, retirement savings options, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
