Job Overview

This is a part-time role requiring two 12-hour shifts weekly, including some weekends. This position is designated for night shifts.

This role will operate within a multidisciplinary setting, necessitating outstanding interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, and clinical and administrative teams.


The position involves utilizing nursing expertise to conduct patient assessments via phone or in-person and implementing nursing interventions. The ability to exercise sound judgment, independent thinking, and creativity in resolving patient care challenges is essential.


This role also includes the responsibility of initiating and organizing patient education tailored to the population served by this unit.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and promptly report any deficiencies to the supervisor.
  • Oversee the proper care and management of medical equipment.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' chief complaints and needs using the nursing process, and collaborate with healthcare providers to seek solutions.
  • Document all nursing assessments in the patient's medical record, ensuring clarity, completeness, and legibility.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times and uphold protocols for the release of medical information.
  • Independently perform routine nursing tasks, including phlebotomy, medication administration, and vital sign measurements.
  • Demonstrate clinical proficiency in performing complex specialty procedures, including conscious sedation and chemotherapy administration.
  • Interpret test results and take appropriate remedial actions as necessary.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other clinical and administrative departments to coordinate patient care effectively.
  • Triage and prioritize incoming calls using clinical assessment skills.
  • Manage urgent medical situations in accordance with organizational protocols.
  • Serve as a resource for staff and physicians in daily problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Proactively address patient care needs and resolve issues.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures related to patient care.
  • Recommend improvements to management regarding policies and procedures to enhance the patient experience.
  • Ensure timely implementation of new policies and procedures and coordinate patient education initiatives.
  • Facilitate understanding of educational materials among patients and ensure return demonstrations when applicable.
  • Provide formal and informal teaching to staff.
  • Participate in community outreach education and specialty-related programs as requested.
