Job Title: Van Driver

Join the Town of Oxford team as a Van Driver and play a vital role in providing safe and timely transportation to senior citizens in our community.

Job Summary

The Van Driver will operate a multi-passenger van in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. This position requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a multi-passenger van safely and efficiently
  • Provide assistance to passengers with special needs, such as using a wheelchair
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the passenger vehicle and report any operational deficiencies
  • Attend training programs to maintain knowledge of requirements to operate a multi-passenger transportation van
Requirements
  • Minimum of high school diploma with two to three years of passenger driving experience
  • Valid Class D Driver's License and good driving record
  • Knowledge of operation of van lift
  • Ability to pass random drug and alcohol tests
Work Environment

This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position that requires local travel. The Van Driver will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Center Director and will be responsible for providing transportation services to senior citizens in our community.

Competencies
  • Working knowledge of passenger van driving rules, regulations, and operation
  • Knowledge of the street layout of Oxford and surrounding municipalities
  • Ability to drive a multi-passenger vehicle safely and assist passengers with special needs
Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.
