Accounting Clerk III

At Checker Notions Company Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Clerk III to join our team. This is a salaried, exempt office role that requires a strong background in accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and secure corporate cash and GL accounts, ensuring accurate and complete checkbook entries.
- Work closely with accounting department leads and manager to analyze performance, ensure proper training, and evaluate procedures and processes regularly.
- Assist in oversight of timely processing and payment of invoices, ensuring timely billing to customers.
- Prepare general ledger journal entries for all transactions that don't go through subsidiary ledgers.
- Review expenses and analyze options for potential cost reduction, working with managers to implement changes.
- Assist in analysis of bank fees, credit card processing fees, commercial insurance, utilities, and other vendor service-related fees, obtaining and analyzing quotes as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience in an accounting-related environment.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Phone experience and willingness to take charge and resolve customer problems promptly.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work efficiently with little supervision.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and stay focused on the job.
- Team player with a strong work ethic and excellent attendance and punctuality history.
- Proficient in computer skills, with a thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word.
