Job Summary

As a Corrosion Control Technician with KBR, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing equipment for the U.S. Marine Corps. Your primary responsibilities will include setting up, operating, and performing preventative maintenance on sandblasting equipment and machines, as well as applying coating materials to various surfaces. You will also provide technical assistance and guidance to lower-level painters and assist higher-level painters as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate sandblasting equipment and machines for cleaning metal and nonmetal surfaces
• Apply coating materials to wood, metal, glass, concrete, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other methods
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to lower-level painters and assist higher-level painters as needed
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Eight years of directly related work experience
• Complete the Vehicle Body Repair Course or equivalent
• Apprenticeship as a painter/sandblaster is preferred
• Valid State motor vehicle operator license and ability to obtain and maintain a Tactical Operator License as necessary
• Working knowledge of OSHA, SPCC, and EPA regulations concerning sandblasting procedures and the use and disposal of sandblast materials
• Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, in extremely high or low temperatures, and at heights
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unaided
