Distribution Groundman

Southern California Edison is seeking a skilled Distribution Groundman to join our team. As a Distribution Groundman, you will play a critical role in the construction, inspection, maintenance, and restoration of our overhead and underground electric distribution systems.

• Assist linemen in gaining poles, framing cross-arms, assembling guys, and splicing wire.
• Load and unload material, raise material and tools on poles or towers using handlines, and dismantle material removed from the line.
• Dig holes for poles and anchors, drive ground rods, and pull wires and guys to tension.
• Operate trucks and power equipment used in overhead and underground line construction, and occasionally operate vehicles up to 12,000 lb. unladen weight class.
• Maintain a safety-oriented attitude and perform other miscellaneous manual labor functions as advised.

• Experience or training with basic construction activities.
• Possess a valid Class A motor vehicle operator's license.

• Experience with electrical tools, materials, and methods employed in overhead and underground line construction and maintenance.
• Experience as a Groundman working on overhead and underground construction.
• Certificate of completion from an SCE-accredited training program with Pole Climbing Endorsement.
• Experience with performing heavy manual labor.
• CPR certification from the Red Cross or American Heart Association.
