Clinical Management Consultants is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hospital Laboratory Manager to oversee the clinical laboratory operations at our award-winning hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality in laboratory operations, maintaining a fiscally sound budget, and developing initiatives that align with our health system's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the clinical laboratory, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and advisory guidelines.
- Develop and implement departmental initiatives to improve laboratory efficiency, quality, and patient safety.
- Manage laboratory budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and optimal resource allocation.
- Lead and motivate a team of laboratory professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of laboratory services with other hospital departments.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement in laboratory operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) by a recognized accrediting agency (ASCP, AMT, etc.).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, including specimen processing, analysis, and reporting, across various laboratory disciplines (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, etc.).
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS), electronic medical records (EMR), and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate staff, foster teamwork, and promote a culture of excellence.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards governing clinical laboratories (CLIA, CAP, COLA, etc.).
