As a Medical Assistant at Avera Medical Group Spencer, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare professionals with patient care, including vital signs, medical histories, and treatment plans.
  • Develop strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve practice-related problems and improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant program with an Associate's degree or diploma preferred.
  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred.
  • National Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAAMA); or National Registration as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologist (AMT); or National Certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Health Career Association and Medical Assistant diploma.
  • Completion of the Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse courses for Iowa Mandatory Reporters within 90 days of employment and every 3 years thereafter.

Work Schedule and Benefits

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, occasional weekends; 80 hours/2 weeks.
