Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our oncology department at Fetch Veterinary. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to pets with cancer and their owners.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with veterinarians to deliver high-quality patient care, including handling, restraint, and medication administration
  • Conduct thorough patient histories and vital sign assessments
  • Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies for procedures
  • Monitor and document patient progress during treatment
  • Perform routine diagnostic procedures, such as blood work, cytology, and radiology
  • Administer treatments, including chemotherapy, under the guidance of veterinarians
  • Assist with procedures like ultrasound, biopsy, CT scans, and other specialized treatments
  • Provide support to pet owners facing a cancer diagnosis through educational and compassionate interactions
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a veterinary technician preferred
  • Previous experience working in an oncology setting highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
