About the Role

Williamson Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Nurse Resident to join our team. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care for surgical patients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of care.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate and provide equipment and supplies in a timely and organized manner.
  • Maintain a sterile field by adhering to aseptic practice principles and communicating any breaks in technique to the team.
  • Perform accurate counts and initiate corrective action when necessary.
  • Anticipate and provide safe anatomical positioning for patients, adhering to policy and procedure.
  • Monitor and control the OR suite environment, maintaining a clean and safe space for patients and staff.
  • Handle, transport, store, and prepare specimens and administer medications safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies.
  • Return equipment and supplies to their proper place and prepare the OR room for the next case.
  • Use supplies judiciously and document patient charges accurately.
  • Facilitate staff development, assist with new personnel orientation, and participate in educational programs for coworkers.
Requirements
  • Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, function independently, and be flexible in applying basic nursing knowledge to various settings.
  • Previous surgery experience and knowledge of perioperative care.
  • Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing.
  • Ability to lift and turn patients with assistance up to 250 lbs.
