Job Summary

The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Addiction Psychiatrist to join their team at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general psychiatric assessments and treatment, as well as co-occurring substance-use disorders assessments and treatment within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Work closely with colleagues to provide comprehensive, evidence-based treatment in the outpatient setting.
  • Initiate/continue buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder in the outpatient setting when appropriate.
  • Provide treatment for patients with co-occurring SUD and general mental health disorders in the outpatient setting.
  • Conduct history and physical examinations, including mental status examinations, intake assessments, substance-use disorders assessments, and suicide risk evaluations.
  • Deliver care in a variety of settings, including in-person, telehealth, and telephone care.
Requirements
  • BC/BE in Psychiatry.
  • 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
  • Ability to provide a comprehensive clinical/psychiatric summary.
  • Skilled in psychotherapy and psychopharmacology.
