As a Radiology Imaging Specialist, you'll play a vital role in producing high-quality x-ray images to aid in accurate diagnoses. Your expertise will ensure that patients receive the best possible care while minimizing radiation exposure.

Responsibilities:
  1. Produce clear and undistorted x-ray images in accordance with physician or radiologist instructions.
  2. Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures.
  3. Perform x-ray procedures using portable machines as requested by the Emergency Department and nursing units.
  4. Process films for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures.
  5. Prepare or clean patient rooms by changing linens, stocking supplies, and wiping off tables and equipment.
  6. Protect patients from undue exposure to radiation by using lead shields and safety factors.
  7. Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents by monitoring dosages and determining potential allergies.
  8. Maintain patient information by purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files.
  9. Maintain imaging and processing equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests, documenting results, and notifying supervision of malfunctioning equipment.


Requirements:
  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  3. Current license/certification in the state of practice.
  4. Basic Life Support Certification.
  5. At least one year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department.
