Radiology Imaging Specialist

As a Radiology Imaging Specialist, you'll play a vital role in producing high-quality x-ray images to aid in accurate diagnoses. Your expertise will ensure that patients receive the best possible care while minimizing radiation exposure.
Responsibilities:
- Produce clear and undistorted x-ray images in accordance with physician or radiologist instructions.
- Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures.
- Perform x-ray procedures using portable machines as requested by the Emergency Department and nursing units.
- Process films for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures.
- Prepare or clean patient rooms by changing linens, stocking supplies, and wiping off tables and equipment.
- Protect patients from undue exposure to radiation by using lead shields and safety factors.
- Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents by monitoring dosages and determining potential allergies.
- Maintain patient information by purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files.
- Maintain imaging and processing equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests, documenting results, and notifying supervision of malfunctioning equipment.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current license/certification in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support Certification.
- At least one year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department.
Work Environment:
This role is located at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado, and requires a 40-hour workweek.
