Job Summary:

The Critical Care Nurse will provide exceptional care to our patients in a 24 bed ICU/Intermediate care unit. Our multidisciplinary team of providers, nurses and respiratory therapists work together to provide our patients with exceptional care in a great team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess health needs of patients and perform nursing care in a safe, caring manner
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Provide education to patients and families on health conditions and treatment options
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Currently licensed to practice in the State of Connecticut
  • Possess the knowledge and skills necessary to assess health needs of patients and to perform nursing care in a safe, caring manner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of acute care nursing experience (step down or ICU preferred)
  • Telemetry experience
  • BSN or ADN/ASN and actively enrolled in a BSN program
  • Certification in PCCN or CCRN encouraged
  • Epic experience
  • ACLS (will be required upon completion of orientation)
