Physician Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our team at Midlands Neurology and Pain Associates, P.A.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehensive Patient Assessments: Conduct thorough medical history reviews, physical examinations, and neurological evaluations to provide accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Treatment Planning: Collaborate with supervising physicians to develop and implement patient treatment plans, focusing on neurology, pain management, and internal medicine.
  • Diagnostic Testing: Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including MRIs, CT scans, and laboratory tests, to inform treatment decisions.
  • Patient Education: Provide patients with clear and concise information regarding their medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
  • Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with state regulations and office policies.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, therapists, and pharmacists, to optimize patient care.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in continuous quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with developments in neurology, pain management, and internal medicine through ongoing education and professional development.
Requirements:
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Licensure: Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in South Carolina.
  • Certification: Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Experience: Previous experience in neurology, pain management, or internal medicine preferred.
  • Clinical Skills: Excellent clinical skills, including the ability to perform thorough physical examinations and interpret diagnostic tests accurately.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
  • Patient-Centered Care: Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions under the supervision of a physician.
  • EMR Proficiency: Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Continuing Education: Willingness to participate in continuing education and maintain licensure and certification requirements.
