Position SummaryYour primary responsibility will be to execute daily maintenance tasks on the golf course and surrounding areas, while also assisting in various project implementations.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Operating mowing machinery; mowing greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunker banks, and native grass areas.
- Conducting bunker upkeep; raking and redistributing sand, edging, and weeding.
- Maintaining and edging all areas around trees, bunkers, cart paths, signage, and other golf course features.
- Installing and caring for landscaping plants and executing all related landscaping tasks.
- Assisting in the repair and maintenance of irrigation system components.
- Preparing the golf course; including cup cutting, tee cleanup, divot filling, ball mark repair, and trash removal.
- Cleaning, fueling, and storing equipment after each use, while ensuring proper maintenance as directed.
- Understanding equipment functionality to maximize longevity and minimize downtime.
- Adhering to golf course etiquette and safety protocols.
- Exhibiting professionalism and courtesy towards guests, members, and fellow employees at all times.
- Recognizing the importance of safety and ensuring compliance with safety procedures in daily activities.
- Demonstrating commitment to the club's success through positive interactions and meeting quality and safety standards.
- Completing additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Maintaining regular and punctual attendance for all scheduled shifts.
Work hours may vary, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Employees may be exposed to various environmental conditions and potential hazards associated with outdoor work.
QualificationsThe following knowledge, skills, and abilities are essential for this role:
- Proficient in operating mowers, sand raking machines, power tools, utility carts, and hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Capability to follow both oral and written directions.
Preferred qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in golf course maintenance is advantageous.
Physical demands of the job include:
- Visual and auditory abilities to read documents and communicate effectively.
- Standing and walking for a significant portion of the workday.
- Climbing, stooping, squatting, and kneeling as necessary.
- Manual dexterity for operating equipment and tools.
- Ability to lift objects exceeding 50 pounds.
