Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Monitor to join our team at St. PJ's Children's Home. As a Security Monitor, you will be responsible for monitoring camera footage, conducting walk-throughs of program buildings, and assisting with incident management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor camera footage daily to ensure the safety and security of our children and staff.
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs of program buildings to observe interactions between children and staff.
  • Assist with incident management, including directing emergency care services and downloading and saving video footage.
  • Run daily security check point system reports and identify trends and patterns.
  • Document shift activity in a daily report submitted to the PSA Compliance Manager and other relevant staff members.
  • Complete end-of-shift security checks of windows and doors with PM and Overnight staff.
  • Adhere to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and take precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self and others.
  • Protect the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service, including client names and information, services rendered to clients, and financial information.
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.
  • Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Senior Director of Emergency Services, or Vice-President of Programs.

Requirements:
  • Able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with unaccompanied children.
  • Varicella: two doses of varicella vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR born in the United States before 1980 with a reported history of chickenpox (verified by an adult present at the time of illness) OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from healthcare provider verifying previous infection.
  • MMR: two doses of MMR vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases.
  • DTaP or DTap: Complete primary vaccination series. If primary vaccination series completed in childhood, one DTaP dose in adulthood.
  • Influenza: one dose annually during flu season.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one-year experience working with children in a child welfare setting; experience working with compliance, best practices, and minimum standards preferred.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Word, Excel) and a variety of online database systems, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Strong analytical and organization skills and abilities.
  • Must be able to read and interpret policy, procedures, and standards.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to remain calm and composed in crisis situations.
