As a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing and improving the documentation of patient care to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to support accurate reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient medical records to evaluate the utilization and documentation of acute care services
- Facilitate accurate and compliant reimbursement for acute care services
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to improve documentation and coding practices
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Nursing Education or International Medical Graduate
- Experience in critical care, medical/surgical, or Emergency Department nursing
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
