POSITION SUMMARY:

NASA SEWP is looking for a mid-level Front-End Application Developer to enhance the usability and features of our web applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the front-end of web applications utilizing HTML, CSS, and various JavaScript libraries and frameworks. If you are passionate about web development, you will play a crucial role in our expanding team of developers, database specialists, and systems administrators supporting the NASA SEWP Program Management Office, a multi-award government acquisition contract focused on commercial IT products and services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement front-end solutions for new web applications supporting NASA SEWP.
  • Enhance and maintain the user experience of our web applications, with an emphasis on usability and performance.
  • Analyze requirements, decompose them, and design system components and their interfaces.
  • Utilize existing design patterns to improve code design and manageability.
  • Collaborate effectively with application developers, content managers, and stakeholders.
  • Document system architecture, component design, interface design, and code to ensure future maintainability.
  • Adhere to project timelines and proactively address or escalate issues to management.
  • Contribute to a dynamic and agile application development environment.
  • Participate in project maintenance and deployment, which may require after-hours work.
  • Provide customer support through various channels including phone, email, and ticketing systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Required: BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Required: Over 5 years of experience in web development using JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, AngularJS, or React.
  • Required: Proficiency in CSS, HTML, and JSON.
  • Preferred: Experience with unit testing for front-end applications using JEST.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with 508 compliance.
  • Preferred: Background in Java application back-end, SQL Server, or ORACLE databases.
  • Preferred: Experience with Maven, rich AJAX web applications, Git, and Eclipse/IntelliJ.
  • Preferred: Agile development experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident, with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • On-site work is required a minimum of two days per week.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
