Position Overview

As a Senior Principal Software Engineer, you will confront intricate challenges while enhancing your professional journey and assisting others in developing their capabilities.

You will collaborate with a diverse team of product managers, software engineers, data product managers, and user experience designers to comprehend requirements, design prototypes, and implement innovative technologies into production delivery systems.


Key Responsibilities
  • Formulating and executing a comprehensive strategy for Commercial Technology Products Delivery that caters to the distinct needs of our International Commercial Business.
  • Translating product strategy into a delivery roadmap that balances cutting-edge innovation with the requirements of various stakeholder teams, prioritizing critical initiatives that yield the most significant business impact.
  • Overseeing the design, development, and deployment of products, managing the entire product development lifecycle from ideation to implementation, and collaborating as necessary.
  • Leading a team of developers who drive the agenda for International Commercial and manage various products within the portfolio.
  • Engaging in discussions on diverse ideas, effectively communicating your product vision and strategy throughout the organization.
  • Working closely with stakeholders and engineering teams to identify their needs, challenges, and opportunities, devising a scalable and efficient model for Commercial Technology Products Delivery.
  • Establishing criteria for measuring the success and efficiency of Commercial Technology Products Delivery and overseeing the implementation and ongoing evaluation of these metrics.
  • Mentoring and contributing to the talent community at Allergan, empowering local and cross-functional teams to excel in their work.
  • Providing thought leadership and contributing to the development of product strategies, roadmaps, and best practices.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience; a Master's Degree with 8 years of experience; or a PhD with 4 years of experience.
  • A profound understanding of the latest methodologies in Commercial Technology Products Delivery, with expertise in governance and product management practices.
  • Over 5 years of proven experience in a leadership capacity within product development, demonstrating success in driving strategic product initiatives.
  • Prior experience working within a global organization and managing global stakeholder expectations.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • A strategic mindset focused on results, capable of driving initiatives from conception to execution.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous research experience in technology or SaaS domains.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
