Position Summary:

The Bridge Designer II will focus on applying advanced structural engineering principles and detailing methodologies on various projects, primarily involving bridge design for both highway and railway systems.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize established bridge engineering and design protocols.
  • Develop structural details with specialized design and analysis software.
  • Conduct structural load assessments and assist in geometric layout and quantity estimation.
  • Prepare design calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Create detailed plans and layouts using CAD software.
  • Engage in the design and analysis of new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation efforts.
  • Participate in inspections of bridge conditions and related transportation structures, including report preparation.
  • Perform bridge load rating evaluations.
  • Conduct construction engineering calculations, including temporary shoring and falsework.
  • Review and assess shop drawings.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Possession of an Engineering Intern or Engineer-In-Training Certificate.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in bridge design.
  • Experience with Finite Element Methods (FEM) analysis is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and/or OpenRoads software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
