Position Overview
The Executive Medical Director (EMD) for Orthopedics & Musculoskeletal Health is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the clinical, operational, and financial aspects of the physician enterprise within the Medical Specialties division of MultiCare Health System (MHS). Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of MultiCare Medical Partners (MMP), the EMD plays a crucial role in driving the growth and performance of the service line.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and execute objectives to deliver the highest quality clinical outcomes, ensuring key performance indicators are met in quality, patient outcomes, cost efficiency, and engagement.
- Oversee all aspects of care delivery within MHS facilities, ensuring adherence to the highest clinical performance standards.
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine clinical protocols and care models that align with system strategies and fiscal targets.
- Build and nurture a high-performing management team, holding leaders accountable for the performance of clinics and service lines.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, directors, and administration to strategically manage the care line, ensuring alignment with MMP and regional strategic goals.
- Drive performance in value-based care initiatives relevant to the care line, working with leaders across MultiCare Health System markets.
- Serve as the designated MMP leader responsible for the integration of all embedded MHS support services that impact clinical outcomes.
Qualifications
- Medical degree from an accredited institution (MD or DO).
- Valid medical licensure in Washington State.
- Credentialed to practice within MHS facilities.
- A minimum of five years in a medical leadership role, including three years as a medical director or equivalent.
- Preferred additional education in healthcare administration.
