Program Summary:

The Wind Technician Development Program is a comprehensive career advancement initiative designed for aspiring wind technicians, developed in collaboration with industry experts.

Job Summary:

The Wind Service Technicians will undergo exclusive safety and technical training recognized by the Global Wind Organization (GWO). You will primarily operate at a wind site close to your residence, collaborating with a service team to ensure safe and effective maintenance of wind turbine systems. You will report directly to the Program Manager and Site Manager, and indirectly to the Lead Technician during assignments.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Executing all preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine generator systems efficiently and safely.
  • Maintaining and repairing machinery or components primarily utilized in power generation applications, turbines, and generators as instructed.
  • Assisting with additional tasks to meet customer requirements and proactively support our organizational vision and values.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • High School Diploma / GED and an Associate Degree in a Technical Mechanical or Wind Energy discipline from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Completion of training in Basic Safety, Tower Safety, Technical Training, and LOTO Training.
  • Pass a Background Check and Drug Screening.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Capability to interpret basic diagrams and wiring schematics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to climb a 300-foot wind tower multiple times daily.
  • Comfortable working at heights exceeding 300 feet.
  • Meet specific weight requirements for tower ladders.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion activities.
  • Willingness to handle weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Successful completion of climb tests and tower rescue training.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety protocols.
  • Perform basic mechanical installations, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Document all work performed accurately.
  • Report any policy or procedure violations.
  • Travel as necessary (up to 25%).
  • Willingness to work during holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and clear driving record.
