LPN - Non-Vascular Radiology Job Description

Mayo Clinic is a world-renowned healthcare organization that values excellence and innovation. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our Non-Vascular Radiology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of the registered nurse (RN) or other assigned supervisor.
  • Collect data through observation and communicate information to assist the RN and/or provider in patient assessment and care planning.
  • Participate as a member of the healthcare team and accept delegation from the RN/assigned supervisor and provider in meeting the needs of the patient/family.
  • Deliver care in accordance with the patient care plan, policies and procedures of the organization, and principles of relationship-based care.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, be skillful in mentoring and instructing, and may participate on committees or projects, including quality improvement projects.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a school of practical nursing or passed LPN Boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program.
  • If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of LPN experience working in an applicable setting is required.
  • Ability to wear lead and to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Ability to work with arms above shoulder level, and repetitive movement with hands and wrists above shoulder level is required.
Additional Qualifications:
  • One year LPN experience within the last five years preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
  • Ability to work daytime hours, flexibility may be required to meet staffing needs.
  • Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
Licensure or Certification:
  • Current LPN license by applicable state requirements.
  • Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers.
