Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to patients in the psychiatric unit, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Implement patient safety policies and procedures, identifying and reporting any potential risks or hazards.
- Participate in educational programs to enhance professional growth and development, staying up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and guidelines.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families, promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and effective discharge planning.
- Administer medications, including IV medications, and document clinical findings accurately and thoroughly.
- Assist with special tests and procedures, and institute emergency measures as necessary, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Ensure patient medical records contain necessary information, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Report potential patient safety concerns and encourage patient participation in their care, fostering a culture of transparency and open communication.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of 2 years directly related experience.
- Current RN license in the state.
- CPR certification for Healthcare/BLS.
- Experience with psychiatric patients preferred.
Physical and Working Conditions:
- Heavy work as per the physical demand requirements.
- Exposure to chemicals and biohazardous materials requiring personal protective equipment.
