Job Title: Account Specialist

At Healthfirst, we are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Account Specialist to join our team. As an Account Specialist, you will play a critical role in identifying prospective members who do not have health insurance and enrolling them into one of our health programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify potential members and design a plan to educate them about our health benefits and care.
  • Review current benefits to determine the most suitable plan for existing members and assist with recertifying their coverage.
  • Assist members with selecting high-quality Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), ordering member ID cards, and making monthly premium payments.
  • Conduct group educational seminars and presentations on Healthfirst products and services, as well as preventive care education.
  • Educate members about digital tools, including the Healthfirst mobile application and Twilio.
  • Maintain and complete adequate Books of Business (BOBs) for all encounters and leads.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities within assigned territories.
  • Partner with Community Engagement to organize events within the sales territory.
Requirements:
  • A valid driver's license.
  • New York State Life Accident and Health License.
  • Associate degree with experience in sales, marketing, or provider relations.
  • Sales experience (1 year in the health insurance industry).
  • Knowledgeable and experienced working with provider networks and hospitals.
  • Bilingual.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer skills and technical savvy (Microsoft Office).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Account management experience.
  • Medicaid and/or Medicare managed care experience.
