Job Summary

Facility Maine Medical Center is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to join our Hospitalist Medicine team. As a Physician Assistant, you will provide medical care and practice medicine under physician supervision, including conducting examinations and writing prescriptions through office-based evaluation and treatment of outpatients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical care and practice medicine under physician supervision.
  • Conduct examinations and write prescriptions for outpatients.
  • Develop and implement care plans for patients.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families to ensure understanding of medical conditions and treatment plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree and successful completion of an accredited physician assistant program.
  • License/Certifications: Current Physician Assistant license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure. NCCPA certification. Current BLS is required.
  • Knowledge of medical models and the roles of physicians and physician assistants.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, clinical medicine, and physical diagnosis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
