Position Overview:
The Ergonomics/EHS Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing workplace safety and ergonomics. This position is essential for fostering a culture of safety and well-being within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the ergonomics team to identify and improve areas with high musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) risks.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments utilizing advanced software tools to evaluate workstations and processes.
- Provide expert guidance in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to cultivate a comprehensive safety culture.
- Evaluate potential hazards throughout the workplace and devise effective control strategies.
- Manage incident responses, including injury oversight, investigations, and corrective action planning.
- Create and implement training initiatives to ensure all employees are equipped with essential EHS knowledge.
- Oversee the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) program, collaborating with teams to identify risks and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Explore and integrate technological solutions, automation, and data analytics to boost EHS performance.
- Review and refine EHS policies and procedures to align with best practices.
- Facilitate safety committees and meetings to promote employee engagement in safety initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Preferred professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, or CIH.
- Certification as an Ergonomist is preferred, with a requirement to obtain within the first year of employment.
