Job Summary:

The Kitchen Sanitation Specialist is responsible for providing a safe and sanitized area for staff and guests. This includes washing and sanitizing all plate ware, drink ware, utensils, pots, pans, and cooking equipment, as well as maintaining the dish room in a clean and organized manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate an industrial dishwasher to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met
  • Wash dishes, sweep/mop floors, clean and maintain equipment, sanitize utensils, and maintain all areas of the restaurant
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly conditions
  • Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment to prevent cross-contamination
  • Execute proper sanitation practices and safety procedures to maintain a healthy work environment
  • Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas to optimize space and efficiency
  • Empty and clean all trash receptacles to maintain a clean and hygienic environment
  • Provide assistance to prep cooks and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times, including basic prep tasks
  • Load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food or supplies to support the smooth operation of the restaurant
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned by management to ensure the restaurant runs efficiently and effectively
  • Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately to prevent accidents and maintain a safe environment

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Excellent customer service skills and etiquette to provide a positive experience for guests
  • Must possess a current Food Handler's Card, where applicable
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless operations
  • Learn about all chemicals used in the building and ability to learn to use them properly to maintain a safe work environment
  • Ability to work around various levels of temperature, including warm to very warm temperatures in the kitchen
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-based environment to meet the demands of a busy restaurant
