Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and self-motivated individual to fill the role of Vehicle Emissions Compliance Specialist. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with the automotive industry while maintaining a reliable work schedule. Key Responsibilities:
The Vehicle Emissions Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring adherence to safety and emissions inspection regulations by conducting thorough audits of inspection stations. Your duties will include:

  • Performing compliance audits at various vehicle inspection stations.
  • Managing the appointment and cancellation of stations within the program.
  • Issuing suspensions to non-compliant stations or technicians.
  • Addressing consumer complaints and providing necessary resolutions.
  • Representing the Department of Transportation at relevant meetings and hearings.

This role typically operates Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a significant portion of the work conducted on-site at inspection stations.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid and clean driver's license.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain Safety Inspection Mechanic Certification and Certified Emission Inspector Certification.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with office equipment.
  • Effective communication abilities, particularly in documenting violations and interacting with the public.
  • The capability to handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and managing extended periods of driving.
  • Previous experience in auditing or investigative roles is advantageous, though not mandatory as training will be provided.
