Job OverviewAt Schaffer Family Law Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to support our team in handling complex family law cases. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of legal procedures and terminology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage case-specific documents, including memoranda and briefs, to ensure accuracy and compliance with court rules.
  • Develop and maintain organized systems for document management, ensuring seamless access to critical information.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to prepare initial drafts of pleadings and correspondence, ensuring timely and effective communication with clients and witnesses.
  • Provide administrative support, including calendar management, to ensure efficient workflow and minimize delays.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other stakeholders to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
  • Assist with discovery requests, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to maintain a strong case presence.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in family law, with a strong understanding of California and local court rules.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certificate, with a focus on family law or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, with experience in document management and case coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software, with the ability to adapt to new systems and technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, supporting multiple attorneys and clients while maintaining a high level of productivity and accuracy.
