Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Medicine Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at Spectrum Health. As a key member of our clinical support team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate efficient and effective patient flow, preparing patients for visits and providing specific services and education as determined by providers.
  • Perform administrative duties to ensure accurate and up-to-date information, including maintenance and monitoring of electronic health records.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, work area, and equipment, and communicate any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Communicate with patients and significant others in a caring and respectful manner, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Collect and monitor patient data, reporting patient needs and documenting care consistent with documentation guidelines.
  • Engage in process and quality improvement activities, making recommendations to improve operational efficiency and implement new services.
  • Complete required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program required.
  • 1 year of relevant experience working in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
  • One of the following certifications required within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA), or AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, with variable weekends. The work schedule is 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The primary location is the Greenville Patient Care Center, W Oak St, Greenville.
