The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) guarantees and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care while coordinating all functions within the unit/department during the designated shift.

In collaboration with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care according to established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.


Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.

- Participate in ongoing assessments of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, collaborating with other management team members.

- Work with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a teamwork environment that supports improved outcomes and service.

- Uphold a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.

- Support facility efforts to enhance engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.

- Provide recommendations regarding the interviewing, selection, and training of new staff.

- Recommend and implement actions related to training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions to ensure a competitive organization.

- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in line with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Ensure proper inventory control and assist in managing supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:
- BSN required; MSN preferred.
- Texas RN license or compact license accepted.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- NTD Cardiac Stable Module must be completed within 18 months of employment start date.
- Neonate Resuscitation certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
- STABLE certification must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Level IV NICU RN experience in an acute care hospital required.
