Job Opportunity

Calvary Baptist Church (CBC) of Platte, SD, is seeking a Senior Pastor to lead the church in its mission to sustain church health and attain healthy church growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for preaching, teaching, and community outreach, with a commitment to modeling pastoral care and equipping ministry volunteers and emerging leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preaching and Teaching: Preach and teach God's Word with accuracy, clarity, conviction, and relevance, and teach God's Word from the pulpit and in smaller group settings.
  • Leadership and Direction: Provide leadership and direction for the church, incorporating the church's mission and vision in preaching and teaching, and modeling local outreach and evangelism, reaching the unchurched and discipling new believers.
  • Church Care: Love the congregation as Christ loves the Church, and ensure a congregational care structure that ministers to the sick, shut-ins, grieving, etc.
  • Representation: Ensure visitor follow-up, regular membership classes, and assimilation into CBC church life, and maintain a relationship with the Platte Ministerial Association and community youth ministry.

CBC is a stable and gospel-driven church with a strong commitment to church health and healthy growth. The church reaches people from a 25-mile radius, with a population of over 16,000, and has a freshly renovated facility on a 10-acre campus. The ideal candidate will be a godly man who will work with the elders to shepherd the church, champion outreach, model pastoral care, engage the community, and help structure ministry for sustained health and future growth.
