About the Role

Are you passionate about craftsmanship and the marine industry? Cockwells Modern & Classic Boat Building is seeking dedicated individuals to take on the role of Marine Craft Assembler. Our company is renowned for its exceptional quality in boat manufacturing, merging traditional skills with cutting-edge engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Scribing and fitting joinery components
• Installing teak decking
• Fitting external stainless-steel hardware
• Installing windows, doors, and furnishings
• Utilizing hand and machine tools effectively
• Fitting GRP components
• Engaging in all aspects of boat assembly

Essential Skills and Experience

While experience as a Marine Craft Assembler is preferred, we welcome applications from skilled 1st & 2nd fix carpenters, window fitters, shop fitters, joiners, and caravan/motorhome fitters. The ideal candidate will:

• Exhibit pride and responsibility in their work
• Be comfortable working under supervision and independently
• Demonstrate confidence in using fixed machinery
• Possess a keen eye for detail and accuracy
• Show strong organizational skills
• Have good practical hand skills, valuing experience over formal qualifications
• Understand basic health and safety protocols
• Be reliable and hardworking
• Display competence in various boat building techniques

Compensation

We offer a competitive hourly wage ranging from £11.50 to £15.50, based on experience.
