Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Diesel Mechanic to repair and maintain our fleet of trucks, trailers, and other vehicles. The successful candidate will have a strong background in diesel maintenance and repair, with a focus on ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine vehicles to determine the extent of damage or malfunctions
  • Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes
  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors
  • Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined and other potentially troublesome areas
  • Plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals, and experience
  • Communicate with drivers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services
  • Repair manual and automatic transmissions
  • Replace and adjust headlights
  • Comply with all safety, DOT, and OSHA guidelines
  • Adhere to company rules and regulations
  • Ensure cleanliness of shop and surrounding areas

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year recent medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience
  • Must have own hand tools
  • Basic computer skills
  • CDL license preferred
  • Good driving record and proven work history
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold temperatures
  • Diagnostic experience is a plus
