Job Summary:

As a Peer Mentor Intensive Home-Based Therapeutic Care Specialist at the Brien Center for Mental Health, you will play a vital role in supporting youth in care to achieve success and satisfaction in their lives. You will actively assist youth in improving their quality of life by modeling, being an active listener, and sharing your own recovery story and lived experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Support youth to identify and develop goals
Model hope and self-determination
Assist peers with goal setting, problem-solving, and skill-building
Assist youth to connect to community-based services, activities, and natural supports
Communicate a sense of hopefulness and respect
Provide encouragement and support to youth
Participate in treatment planning meetings
Develop and maintain relationships with youth, families, community providers, and resources

Requirements:

Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of personal recovery with lived experience
Minimum of 1 year of recovery/sobriety for individuals living with alcohol/substance issues
Knowledge of community resources
Ability to pass a CORI check, DEEC Background Check, and RMV check
Valid driver's license and ability to use a personally insured vehicle for agency business
