Key Responsibilities:
  • The Cardiovascular Operating Room Technologist serves as a key resource within the CVOR at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. Collaborates with the OR Service Leader to ensure compliance with quality, safety, regulatory standards, and JCAHO guidelines.
  • Exhibits leadership qualities and supports essential behavioral competencies.
  • Assists the OR Service Leader in evaluating data, ensuring team compliance with performance metrics, and fostering continuous improvement in processes.
  • Acts as the primary liaison and information source for the specialty area.
  • Supervises the delivery of therapeutic care in a holistic, evidence-based setting that promotes outstanding patient care and optimal outcomes.
Qualifications for Consideration:
  • Certification - Basic Life Support upon commencement; Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) via NCCT; Must be eligible for Surgical Technologist registration in the Commonwealth of Virginia at the time of hire.
  • Registration must be finalized within six months of employment.
  • Licensure - None required.
  • Experience - Minimum of two years of Surgical Technologist experience in cardiac surgery.
  • Education - High School diploma or equivalent.
