Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Dallas, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing electrical engineering projects, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare feasibility studies, including cost estimates for CapEx planning
  • Propose overall project plans, assess and obtain necessary resources
  • Prepare formal CapEx authorization requests (AFE) with well-thought-out technical solutions, accurate budgets, and schedules
  • Provide electrical technical expertise, including P&ID and instrumentation loop diagrams, control system design, and specification and selection of MCCs and power distribution equipment
  • Prepare power system studies, including arc flash hazard analysis for relevant projects
  • Manage projects varying between $0.2 Mio to $50 Mio, develop detailed project plans, and monitor costs and schedules
  • Procure electrical specifications and scopes of work for use in the bidding process, evaluate and recommend external organizations, and lead electrical technical parts in bid evaluations and contract negotiations
  • Direct contractors' electrical activities and on-site performances, negotiate and approve/reject contractor claims, and verify contractor invoices
  • Organize electrical and automation start-up teams, assign roles and responsibilities, and monitor performance concerning contract documents
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or electrical technology
  • Minimum 7 years professional experience in electrical engineering and project management, preferably in the cement or other heavy industry
  • Very broad knowledge and understanding of equipment used for cement manufacturing, including power, instrumentation, and control equipment and PLC/HMI architecture and programming
  • Mastery of National Electrical Code and MSHA regulations
  • Authoritative understanding of project management and engineering concepts and practices
  • Solid computer skills and familiarity with software packages such as SKM, ETAP, and EasyPower
  • Ability to develop detailed project schedules with logic and maintain and update schedules based on verified progress
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 scheduling software
