**BluePearl Pet Hospital in Overland Park, KS, is seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our Cardiology team.**

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to assist our nursing team in providing exceptional care to our patients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for Cardiology and a desire to advance their skills in the veterinary field.

As a Cardiology Veterinary Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

**Responsibilities:**

* Assist the nursing team in providing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.

* Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds.

* Calculate basic medical math.

* Understand classification of commonly-used medications, associated side effects, and appropriately monitor therapeutic response.

* Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.

* Perform lab work.

* Triage and obtain patient history.

* Assist clinician with diagnostic procedures.

* Patient care including treatments.

* Prepare prescriptions and communicate discharge orders to clients.

* Our current opening will also include a weekend day with the Emergency Service.
