- Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, and collecting specimens as needed.
- Collect patient history, including current medications, allergies, and symptoms.
- Document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record and relay instructions to patients and families.
- Assist providers with various procedures and screenings.
- Answer patient phone calls and messages, acting as a liaison between patients and providers.
- Perform clerical duties, including filing and sending medical records.
- Collect and handle lab specimens, adhering to infection control guidelines.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of Medical Assistant or practical nursing training program with documented clinical practicum hours, or Medical Assistant certification, or one year of experience in a medical office setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Ability to take accurate patient vital signs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD9 codes.
- Intermediate computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
