Job Summary:

The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry is seeking a full-time faculty member in the Division of Prosthodontics. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching pre-doctoral students and residents in fixed, removable, and implant prosthodontics. The faculty member will also participate in service activities and research.

Responsibilities:

Teach pre-doctoral students and residents in fixed, removable, and implant prosthodontics
Participate in service activities and research
Provide clinical teaching and leadership in dentistry clinics
Work collaboratively with other faculty and staff to promote best business practices and increase clinic productivity
Participate in the Faculty Private Practice and build a practice
Serve the Department of General Practice, Division of Prosthodontics in the School of Dentistry, and committees and task forces as requested

Qualifications:

Dental degree (DDS/DMD or equivalent)
Eligible for a dental license in Virginia
Minimum of three years' experience in teaching pre-doctoral students and residents in all aspects of Prosthodontics
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
Demonstrated ability to contribute to and participate in a humanistic environment of learning with the ability to adapt to change and embrace modern technology
Ability, or acquire and develop such ability, to incorporate adult learning theory, evidence-based oral health care, innovation in student learning, and critical thinking
For tenure eligibility: The candidate will be required to have a well-developed scholarly/research portfolio with evidence of multi-disciplinary applications

Preferred Qualifications:

Board certified in Prosthodontics
Experience in sleep medicine and orofacial pain management
