Job Summary:
The Senior Epidemiology Researcher will lead research investigations, analyses, and experiments in epidemiology to inform military readiness and health policy. This role requires expertise in behavioral research, experimental psychology, and data analysis, with experience working with military populations and government-approved research protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement medical event monitoring systems and databases to obtain epidemiological data and findings
- Collaborate with Navy commands, federal agencies, and other stakeholders to design and execute epidemiology research studies
- Analyze longitudinal data from linked military health system and DOD databases to evaluate the effects of deployment and exposures on long-term health outcomes
- Communicate research results through presentations, briefings, and publications to technical and general audiences
Requirements:
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., epidemiology, public health, behavioral research) from an accredited university in the United States or an international University of equivalent standard
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in research and management, including experience working with military populations and government-approved research protocols
- Ability to extend and apply knowledge of behavioral research to military health and performance domains
- Experience in writing and editing technical and scientific research information for diverse audiences
- SECRET clearance level or ability to acquire it
