Job Description:

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Intensive Care Unit team. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical care for critically ill patients and collaborating with ICU physicians, nurses, and other multidisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive care.

About the Role:

  • You will perform comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the ICU team.
  • You will order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results to formulate and adjust treatment plans.
  • You will initiate and manage mechanical ventilation, vasoactive medications, and other ICU therapies.
  • You will mentor and educate ICU nursing staff, APPs, residents, and medical students on evidence-based practices and advances in critical care medicine.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and implementation of interventions.
  • Collaboration with ICU physicians, nurses, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintenance of accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications:

  • Active Physician Assistant license in the state and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of ICU experience as a PA, with strong critical thinking, procedural skills, and clinical judgment.
  • Proficiency in invasive procedures commonly performed in the ICU, including Central Venous Catheter placement, Ventilator Management, Thoracentesis, and Endotracheal Intubation.

Benefits:

  • $120,000 - $155,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
