Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and record complete clinical histories pertinent to examinations requested.
  • Evaluate requests for appropriateness and refer concerns to coordinators and/or radiologists.
  • Instruct patients on the nature of the exam being performed and effectively communicate with them throughout the exam.
  • Follow established scan protocols or radiologists' special instructions.
  • Demonstrate appropriate use of equipment and accessories.
  • Select appropriate technical factors for requested imaging exams.
  • Assist in the instruction of student technologists and new personnel.
  • Demonstrate accurate positioning and ensure patient comfort.
  • Demonstrate proper screening procedures for contraindications to MRI examinations.
  • Ensure proper magnetic field safety at all times.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all MRI emergency procedures.
  • Provide proper hearing protection to all patients and visitors.
  • Effectively complete all required documentation related to patient care, imaging procedures, and RIS requirements.
  • Document and report all incidents, radiation safety concerns, and equipment malfunctions to coordinators in a timely fashion.
Requirements
  • AAS degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • 1 year of experience in CT and/or MRI.
  • Current ARRT registration and NYS license required.
