Job Summary

MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital is seeking a skilled Cardiac Catheterization Technologist to join our team in the Catheterization Laboratory. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for assisting with cardiac catheterization procedures, including coronary angiography and interventions.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with cardiac catheterization procedures, including coronary angiography and interventions
  • Prepare and maintain the catheterization laboratory, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff
  • Operate and maintain complex medical equipment, including fluoroscopy and angiography systems
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and laboratory efficiency
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist or related field
  • Current certification in cardiovascular technology (e.g., RRT, RCIS)
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with EP studies and vascular/ peripheral angiography
  • Knowledge of Cerner documentation systems
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and on-call rotations
