The Surface Preparation Specialist will be responsible for utilizing various equipment, including shot blasting machinery, airless paint pumps, and pressure washers, to prepare and finish pressure vessels and components. This position encompasses duties related to surface treatment, equipment handling, and adherence to safety protocols, along with supporting maintenance operations.

Primary Duties

  • Conduct surface preparation activities such as shot blasting, painting, and tank cleaning.
  • Operate and maintain equipment effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
  • Participate in maintenance projects as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the shop and yard areas.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Basic proficiency in power tool usage.
  • Ability to interpret measurements and perform basic calculations.
  • High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Prior experience in sandblasting and industrial painting is preferred.
  • Physical capability to climb ladders and lift weights up to 50 pounds.
