Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Italian Home for Children. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality psychiatric care to our clients.

Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for managing the psychiatric services and overall psychiatric care and treatment of assigned clients. This includes providing ongoing psychiatric assessment and medication treatment, attending regular team meetings, and ensuring treatment practices are in line with regulatory requirements and licensure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide psychiatric assessment and ongoing medication treatment to assigned caseload of clients
  • Attend weekly team meetings and consult regularly with clinicians and other prescribers
  • Complete required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Keep detailed and accurate documentation of interventions with patients
  • Participate with the multidisciplinary team in the development/review of treatment planning and case assignment
  • Communicate with collaterals at other agencies regarding client treatment and needs
  • Provide on-call coverage for cases and vacation coverage for other prescribers' cases
  • Available during business hours for insurance reviews
  • Respond to emergency situations with clients and families
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Valid and current Nurse Practitioner license
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience providing psychopharmacology management to children, adolescents, and adults with significant trauma histories
  • Ability to understand and implement agency treatment philosophy
  • Commitment to highest quality of care
  • Creative, thoughtful, and able to make good decisions quickly in crisis situations
  • Strong ability to accept and give critical feedback
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record keeping
  • Consistent and strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and adhere to deadlines
  • Maintains calm and can perform in a stressful and fast-paced environment
