**Job Overview:**

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Power System Controls Engineer to join our team in Pullman, WA.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical power systems and experience with software integration, industrial controls, PLCs, industry protocols, and Ethernet systems.

This role involves applying fundamental concepts of power system automation and providing technical assistance to customers on the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of automation and/or protection systems.

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,400 - $196,100 per year based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of power system software, integration, and automation.
  • Train and assist customers with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of automation and/or protection systems.
  • Complete and implement assigned work within agreed-upon scope, schedule, and budget to a high level of quality and safety.
  • Participate in the preparation of functional design specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed design documents, reports, checklists, test reports, and deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience with electric power systems, industry practices, and software integration.
  • Good knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration, and/or automation and communications applications.
  • Working knowledge of electric power system design, studies, information, and communication technology and protective relay applications.
